To receive credit for this unit students are to complete one of the following assignments. |
1. List a financial goal that you have for yourself. Explain why this goal is important to you? Devise a plan for reaching this goal. Write up your plan so that your classmates will understand it. Now that you have come up with a plan to achieve this financial goal develop a presentation for the class. |
2. Select an article about money from a magazine, newspaper, or the internet. Read the article then put together a presentation summary of the article for the class. Include a copy of the article and its source for your teacher. |

3. Choose a cliché about money and research its origin. Explain the country it is from, as well as why people started saying it. Also, explain its meaning to the class. (Hint: Choose your source carefully. Not all internet sites have accurate information on this topic.) |
4. Write a skit about a typical money situation that a person your age would find themselves involved in. Solve the situation in the skit. Present the skit to the class. (You are responsible for getting the actors for your skit, rehearsing the skit ahead of time, getting the props that you will need and cleaning up at the end of your skit.) |

5. Choose a career that involves money or finance. Research the career. Gather information about: the duties and responsibilities for someone in the career, the type of education and training needed to work in this career how much money a person working in this career can expect to earn.
Add any other information you think would be important for the class to know. Present the information to the information to the class. |
If you are doing a skit or a song or some other type of presentation that does not require a paper copy then you are to give your teacher a paper copy of your presentation on the day your project is due. |

For all oral presentations students can prepare a poster, a song, a skit, a power point presentation, etc. Remember to let the teacher know if any special electronics will be needed for the presentation. |
