- Bethesda House provides emergeny assistance for families and individuals that are homeless or living in poverty. Services include, but are not limited to clothing, laundry facilities, phones, food pantry. Also provided are meals at 3pm Monday through Friday, Legal Aid, GED classes, Women's Groups, Food Stamp Screening, Parents Anonymous, AIDS Outreach and Nutrition Groups.

Family and Child Service of Schenectady, Inc. (Medicaid Waiver Program)
Head Start Program Through Schenectady Community Action Program, Inc. Comprehensive pre-school program for children 3 – 5 years old that enriches a child’s learning experiences and prepares them for kindergarten and continued success in school. Head Start’s curriculum focuses on the child’s educational, social and emotional needs and family support services embrace the philosophy that the parents are the most important and influential educator of their children. Services include; nutrition, health and mental health information, parent involvement opportunities and support
services (Schenectady Community Action Program, Inc. 2011).
