Home and Careers
Eighth grade classes are starting a career research project to be completed over the next several weeks. Using the Outlook Handbook and other written library resources students will investigate their career choice. Students will also be using the internet to gain more information about their chosen topic. Therefore, I am requesting that all students be able to access the internet in a controlled school setting. Students will be writing a research paper to be handed in as well as giving an oral report on their chosen career.
Seventh grade students are finishing up their sewing project of a fleece hoodie. The sweatshrits are turning out beautifully. They are as comfortable, fuzzy, and warm as they are attractive. Our next topic is nurtition. Here students will be learning how to use the new food guide pyramid to create for themselves a healthy life style. They will also be introduced to kitchen safty and cooking and baking techniques. Most students love this unit because they will be able to sample the items they make in class!
