FOOTBALL TRYOUT INFO:
• TRYOUTS - Tryouts will be held the week of August 13th. Make sure you have your physical & clearance by the 13th! (See info below)
Monday - Thursday, August 13-16 *Wear shorts, t-shirt, appropriate
1:00pm - 3:00pm sneakers, and your hair UP!
Middle School Gym *Bring H2O!
• PREPARE! Start stretching and practicing your jumps NOW. Don't wait until the week of the clinic. We will be able to tell who has worked all summer to prepare for the season and who has not. You should also be building your strength - legs, arms, and core! You don't have to join the gym. Just do crunches, leg lunges/squats, and push ups on a daily basis. Running is a great way to build your endurance, too!
• PHYSICAL & CLEARANCE - You must have a current physical, (they are good for 1 year,) AND get sports clearance from the school nurse. All of the forms can be found on the Schalmont website.
School Physical Dates: August 7th 8:30 - 10:30 @ HS nurse
August 14th 8:30 - 10:30 @ HS nurse (If you go to this one, you
will miss a day of tryouts.)
Sports Clearance Dates: August 8th, 9th & 13th 9:00 - 2:00 @ HS nurse
• OPEN GYM - There will be a series of open gyms prior to tryouts. These are optional, and are open to anyone interested in trying out. We will go over some basic moves, jumps, and sidelines to help you prepare for tryouts. We will be dancing & conditioning as well. Everyone is encouraged to attend, whether you have cheer experience or not! (If you think you don't need it - think again!)
Tuesdays & Thursdays - 6:00pm - 8:00pm @ the middle school gym
July 24th, 26th, 31st
August 2nd, 7th, 9th
• PRACTICE - will begin the week immediately following tryouts. (This means, if you plan to try out for the team, be sure you will not be on vacation after August 13th.)
