We had our last practice today using/making dichotomous keys. If students didn't finish the keys in class, they were to finish making the fish key and the pine needle key for HW.

Today in class we continued working on dichotomous keys. For HW students need to complete shark dichotomous key and answer the analysis questions that follow it in the "Using and Making a Biological Key" packet. The students will be taking a test next Tuesday covering classification and the use of dichotomous keys.

Today in class we worked on dichotomous keys. We practiced both using dichotomous keys and designing them.

Students have just finshed their research project on the six kingdoms and presented them. We now are moving on to dichotomous keys and species identification.

Students in 2nd and 8th finalized their research for the KIngdoms and are prepared to present on Tuesday (11/22). Period 9 students presented their Kingdoms today. They have no HW for this evening.

Students worked in the library today researching their kingdom.  They should have 10 facts on  notecards from a website in 2nd period.  8th and 9th period classes are farther along with research so  they need to have 25 total cards from a website source.

Students in period 2 class have no homework.  Students in periods 8 and 9 should complete the data table in the blue packet as well as graph the data on the graph paper provided.

Students ( in period 2 class only) need to complete the data table in the blue graphing packett.  There will also be a quiz tomorrow for all students.  They should look over the bright green spongebob sheet that outlines different experiments.  They should be able to recognize the control, independent and dependent variables, and be able to place the variables on the correct axis on a graph in addition to writing a good title for the graph. They can also use the graphing note packet from class to help them study.

Students have 10 words to define using the text book as well as with the blue prefix list. (2 definitions for each word)  The words are : abiotic, biotic,homeostasis,biogenesis,spontaneous generation, biology, autotrophe, heterotrophe, nutrient, ingestion
