Looking for a good book to read? You may want to check out some suggestions by Jefferson's fifth graders!
Over the past few weeks the fifth grade classes have been working on creating booktalks for the brand new library web page. At the library students learned that a booktalk is a short, interesting presentation about a book that they really enjoyed and want to share with others. Each student picked a favorite book that would be suitable for younger readers, spent some time writing a booktalk script, then presented their booktalk to the class. We set up a "studio" at the library and filmed each student booktalk. Thanks to Mr. Thompson and Mr. Sullivan for sharing some of their own favorite books. Everyone did a great job!
Want to watch some booktalks? All of the videos are available on the library webpage. Just click on the booktalks link and enter the password given by Ms. Shands (This ensures that only Jefferson elementary school members can view the videos.) The booktalks will also be available to watch on the computers in the library.
